Check Your Heart

It's not always about our prayers.  Sometimes, even when we pray with all our might, it still seems that God is far away from us.  That no matter how we kneel in front of God and cry our hearts out God keeps quiet.  Why?
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. (Psalm 66:18-19, NIV)
Cherished.  The dictionary defines this word as something we hold dear, something we nurture or care for dearly.  Something we could not let go.

It's not always about praying to God.  Prayer, just like any form of communication, is a two way thing.  God answers when we have the right motives.  God answers when we don't have any sin that we let linger in our lives.  God is not silent.  He hears you and it breaks His heart when He can't answer your prayer because of what you're still holding.

What is it that you can't let go?  Is it lying?  Smoking?  Are you holding on to a relationship that you know doesn't please God?  Check your heart and let it go.

Let God break you so He can make you.  Surrender your sins to Him today.
